Increasing capacity of Canadian teams
One of the roles of the XPRIZE Canada Hub at the University of Calgary is to increase the participation of Canadian innovators and visionaries in XPRIZE competitions.
This is done through building awareness of new competitions, hosting capacity building sessions, and connecting the right people to tackle humanity's greatest challenges.

Future Vision Sci-fi Film Competition
Looking for optimistic visions of the future. One mission: Show us a future worth building.
Create a 3-minute sci-fi trailer depicting an optimistic abundant future for humanity. The grand prize winner gets $2.6M+ USD to turn their vision into a feature film, plus over $1M USD in prizes for runners-up.
Scientists, physicists, filmmakers, writers, storytellers, actors and VFX specialists can register to support a team or register to compete for the prize with their own creative and production team.
Submission deadline is August 15, 2026.
