Workshop Information

The International Research Network CAFQA (Canada-France Quantum Alliance) brings together researchers from CNRS, French universities and Canadian universities. Its objective is to foster collaborations between French and Canadian researchers in different fields of quantum sciences and technologies

The CAFQA network is pleased to announce its fourth workshop, to be held in Calgary from Monday, June 8 to Thursday, June 11, 2026. The workshop will cover the latest developments achieved in both countries in the fields of: 

  • Quantum Materials and Circuits
  • Quantum Computing and Simulation
  • Quantum Communications
  • Quantum Sensing and Metrology
  • Quantum Basic Science and Quantum Engineering
  • Interface between Mathematics and Quantum Science
  • Quantum Science and Technologies and Humanities and Social Sciences 

The program will consist of invited talks, contributed talks (25' talk + 5' questions) and posters presenting recent advances in the field given by researchers from both countries, as well as brief overviews of research activities in the various institutions. A half-day laboratory tour will also be organized. 

Deadline for abstract submission: April 20, 2026 at 23:59 MT. 

Deadline for registration: May 15, 2026, at 23:59 MT. 

There are several hotels nearby: The Alt Hotel University District and Aloft Hotel are within walking distance of the University of Calgary main campus. 

The workshop will be held at Quantum City's qHub space, in the ARTC Building at 3553 31 St NW
